Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that the outgoing Secretary (West) in MEA, Ms Sujata Mehta (IFS:1980), has been appointed as Member, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). An official announcement is expected shortly. Reportedly, she will take over the charge at UPSC on 22nd February.
It is interesting to know that 45 days prior to her retirement, the NaMo administration picked her for the plum post in UPSC.
