Subramanian Swamy (SS) has alleged that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had not got admission to IIT through merit. He said that as per the RTI reply on Kejriwal's IIT admission, the Delhi CM did not get admission to the B.Tech program at IIT-Kharagpur through a competitive exam.
He told the media that when the IIT was set up in 1952, seats were not filled according to marks. "The seats were then given illegally by members of the managing board of governors of IIT-Kharagpur and it was stopped by the government in 2005," he said.
"He (Kejriwal) should have had the courage to admit. I call upon Kejriwal to give this explanation. Did he come to IIT through merit or did he get in by trickery?"
