Something brewing in Punjab as Amit Shah meets Jathedar Akal Takth

Amritsar (14.02.2022): Home Minister Amit Shah’s meeting with Jathedar Akal Takht Giani Harpreet Singh during his visit to the city has various connotations. This is probably the first such meeting by a high-profile BJP leader with Jathedar Akal Takth after the Modi Government came to power at Centre.Shah was accompanied by Union Minister Hardeep Puri, BJP leaders Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Tarun Chugh and Manjinder Singh Sirsa. No one will know what transpired at the meeting, but he must have been there with some message of the Prime Minister. The BJP is not in the reckoning in the state but it may emerge as a dark horse with its strategy of galvanising Hindu and Sikh voters.
