The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet on Monday cleared the appointment of Shashi Shankar to the post of ONGC Chief. The public sector headhunter had on 19 June selected him for the post out of nine candidates. Shankar, currently Director- T&FS (ONGC), will replace D K Sharaf, the outgoing CMD, retiring on 30th of this month. He will continue as ONGC chief till March 31, 2021.
