Lucknow (07.09.2024): In another incidence of judiciary coming down heavily, the Yogi Adityanath government has sent senior IAS officer Rajesh Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary, Prison, in the waiting list in view of Supreme Court of India reprimanding him in the matter of pardoning of convicts was delayed as the concerned file was stuck with him. The observation of the court was that it misguided on the issue. The SC ruled that it cannot tolerate any IAS officer misleading the court and changing his/her stand as per convenience. The SC observed that the stand taken by Singh in the affidavit submitted on August 14 is completely different from his submission made on August 12, 2024. He argued that clearance of file was delayed due to the Model Code of Conduct being in place for Lok Sabha elections. Singh later said that it happened inadvertently. The Court will give its orders on September 9, 2024.
