The employees of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) have
contributed Rs 3 Crore towards the current relief work going on in Odisha after
the devastation caused by cyclone Fani. The employees’ contribution was given to Odisha Chief
Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF). Chairman SAIL Anil Kumar Chaudhary handed over
the sum through a cheque to the Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday,
June 14, in the presence of Union Minister for Steel Dharmendra Pradhan at
Odisha Bhawan in New Delhi. Earlier, SAIL stood steadfastly to provide help in cyclone
affected areas of the State. Scores of electricity poles were moved on an
urgent basis by SAIL to replace the polls damaged in the cyclone. The company
also moved in special quality Wide Parallel Beam (WPB-160), or huge poles, as
its topmost priority in response to the immediate requirement of the State
Government.
