REC pledges to distribute essentials packets to the needy

One of India’s largest power financiers PSU REC Ltd has spearheaded the mission of feeding laborers and the needy through collaborative efforts. REC Foundation, the CSR arm of REC has pledged to distribute 5000 customized packets carrying essentials for laborers and the needy, affected because of lockdown due to pandemic covid-19.

 

These packets contain drinking water bottle, roasted chana, peanuts, mixture, glucose powder, footwear and reusable masks. The first leg of the activity was planned on June 4, 2020 and approximately 500 such packets were distributed among 500 beneficiaries in Delhi. The second leg was successfully completed on June 7 in Gurgaon and Noida where nearly 1000 packets were distributed. The remaining packets will be distributed in the coming days. The distribution of these bags was done by employees of the corporation who volunteered to stand for this social cause.

 

REC Ltd, has also partnered with TajSATS (a joint venture of IHCL and SATS Ltd) to distribute specially-made nutritious meal packets for medical staff in Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi. Every day, 300 food packets are being delivered as a gesture of gratitude to the frontline healthcare warriors of New Delhi. Over 18,000 meals are being delivered in New Delhi through this initiative.

In yet another step to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, state-owned Power Finance Corporation Ltd (PFC) has come forward to provide financial assistance of ₹ 1.23 crore to the Government of Uttarakhand.

The fund will be utilized for procurement of 500 PPEs Kits for frontline staff and 06 fully equipped Ambulances which will be handed over to the Health Department of Uttarakhand State.

The CSR initiative by PFC will further support the preparedness of the state of Uttarakhand in its fight against the spread of COVID-19.

PFC to provide lunch to doctors and medical staff engaged in treatment of COVID-19 patients

In yet another step to battle COVID-19 pandemic, state-owned Power Finance Corporation Ltd (PFC) has tied up with TajSats, one of Asia’s largest food companies, to provide hygienic and nutritious food to frontline COVID warriors. As part of this endeavor, PFC will provide packed lunch boxes to Doctors and other Health Medical Staff engaged in the treatment of COVID-19 patients at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi. 

Under this initiative, the company has provided financial assistance of ₹ 64 lakh (approx.) to Taj STATS for the supply of high-quality and hygienic food (Packed Lunch box) to the Doctors and Medical Staff of Dr. RML Hospital on daily basis for a period of 60 days commencing from 25th May 2020. 

The Ministry of Health has selected Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in New Delhi as one of the hospitals dedicated to the treatment of COVID-19 where doctors and other health staff are providing round the clock medical and other health services to COVID-19 patients.

Earlier, PFC has contributed ₹ 200 crore to the PM-CARES Fund to support the battle against COVID-19. The employees of PFC have also come forward for the cause and have donated their one day salary to PM CARES Fund. Further, PFC has contributed ₹ 50,00,000 (₹ Fifty Lakhs only) each to the District Collectors of Siddharth Nagar and Bulandshahar in Uttar Pradesh along with ₹ 50,00,000 (INR Fifty Lakhs only) to Indian Red Cross Society to provide medical equipment in Kota, Rajasthan.

IFFCO leads Break CORONA Chain campaign at ground zero

IFFCO, the leading cooperative society of the world, is making every effort on its part to contain the spread of COVID-19 at ground zero by organizing ‘Break the CORONA Chain Social Awareness Campaign’ in different states across the country.

It has organized over 60 camps on social awareness campaigns so far and is continuously organizing on a daily basis highlighting preventive and precautionary measures. Given the critical importance of the Industry, all IFFCO plants remain fully operational even during the pandemic.

Some of the important aspects undertaken under this campaign included: 1) social distancing; 2) proper sanitization; 3) maintaining a healthy diet and 4) prevention through-covering of face by masks / ‘Gamchha’. IFFCO employees are educating stakeholders about ways of prevention and containment of Coronavirus at more than 100 touchpoints and sale points.

Over 3.5 Lakh Vitamin-C tablets, 50,000 medicated soaps, 20,000 masks, 5,000 sanitizers and numerous medical kits have been distributed at different locations all across India. Apart from this, medical equipment for hospital staff and health workers were provided in the places facing a shortage of equipment. IFFCO is using its extensive marketing network to deliver critical goods in areas otherwise hard to access.

Fertilizer sector is identified as a critical sector so thousands of laborers and employees are working tirelessly even during the pandemic to ensure farmers of the country don’t face a shortage of plant nutrients. SCOPE employees contribute one day salary to PM-CARES Fund

IRCON contributes Rs 15.5 crore more to PM CARES

IRCON has come forward to provide additional financial assistance of Rs 15.5 crore to PM CARES Fund for fighting COVID-19 which is in addition to Rs 5 crore assistance announced earlier. With Company’s total contribution to PM-CARES Fund now amounts to Rs 20.5 crore including the contribution of Rs 51 lakh by the employees.

Fight against COVID-19: REC Foundation providing food, shelter to over 36,500 daily wagers

REC Foundation, the CSR arm of Navratna CPSE REC Ltd under of Ministry of Power, has started distributing cooked food, ration, utility packets, masks, sanitizers and even providing shelter during the lockdown to over 36,500 daily wagers and their families.

 

The Foundation has already released Rs 3.26 crore for these activities and more such funds are already in the pipeline. It is to be mentioned that REC has already donated Rs 150 crore to the PM CARES Fund to support India's fight against coronavirus.

 

REC Foundation in association with respective state-owned power distribution utilities is providing food grain packets and other utility packets like masks and sanitizers. REC has also tied up with Delhi Police to provide 500 ration kits on a daily basis with over 2000 beneficiaries. REC Foundation has also released funds to the offices of Distribution Companies, Collector and/or District Magistrates of various districts across India to provide cooked meals twice a day for 10-30 days.

GAIL's Pata Plant has contributed Rs 50 lakhs from its CSR funds to District Magistrate, Auraiya, in Uttar Pradesh. Together with combined efforts, the country and its people will defeat COVID19.
