New Delhi (24.01.2026): The Ministry of Home Affairs in a
minor yet important reshuffle in the Delhi administration appointed Santosh D
Vaidya (IAS: 1998: AGMUT) as Principal Secretary (Home), Government of NCT of
Delhi. Vaidya replaces senior IAS officer Bipul Pathak (IAS: 1992: AGMUT). It may be underlined that Vaidya, while serving in Jammu and
Kashmir, was transferred to Delhi along with Sanjeev Khirwar (IAS: 1994: AGMUT) in the first week
of this month. As stop gap arrangement Sandeep Kumar (IAS: 1997: AGMUT),
currently Principal Secretary (Vigilance) holding additional charge of
Principal Secretary (AR), Principal Secretary (IT), Chairman (DSSSB) and
Chairperson (DPCC), will function as Home Secretary till Santosh D Vaidya
assumes the charge. Bipul Pathak currently, ACS (Home) handles several key
charges as ACS (Finance), ACS (Planning), ACS (Industries) and Chairman, Delhi
State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC). Now,
Bipul Pathak has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary (Social Welfare)
with additional charge of Director (UTCS).
