New Delhi (14.07.2026): The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has made a major change in its selection process which will come into effect from August 1, 2026. From August 1, 2026, applications will be submitted only through online system available on the official website of PESB. The PESB has so far been following a hybrid system where applications could be submitted through both online and offline methods.
Applicants had three main options to submit their forms:
- Through the Nodal Officer or Department (Offline Route): Candidates filled out the form on the PESB portal, took a printout, and sent the hard copy to the PESB office through the concerned Ministry, Company Nodal Officer, or Administrative Secretary.
- Through Email: In some cases, the application form was scanned and forwarded through the official email.
- Direct Physical Submission:
Private sector applicants and some other candidates could send the printed application directly to the PESB office in New Delhi through Speed Post or submit it by hand.
Physical files often took a long time to reach the PESB office through Ministries and Nodal Officers. Sometimes forms were received with missing pages or missing signatures, which led to rejection. Under the new 2026 circular, all these offline methods have been completely removed. Now, even the Nodal Officer must forward applications only through the PESB Nodal Officer Portal. The entire process has become digital.
The new procedure will make the recruitment process more transparent. It will help make the system faster, paperless, and fully digital. The interview process for Board-level posts, such as CMD and Director, will continue to be face-to-face, just like before. However, the shortlisting and application tracking process will now be handled through the new online system.
