Among the candidates picked up for interview for the post of CMD NTPC on December 21 are two from within the company and another from BHEL. Those from within the company are Saptarshi Roy who is ED North and posted in Lucknow and A K Gupta (ED, Engineering) posted at NTPC HQ in Delhi. From outside the company but from within the public sector is Kulamani Biswal (Director- Tech) of BHEL, As reported earlier by 'Indianmandarins', the search-cum-selection Committee has zeroed down on nine candidates who would be interviewed on December 21 for the post of NTPC CMD. The committee had met earlier on November 23 to screen applications. The six other candidates picked up for interviews are serving bureaucrats and top corporate executives. They are Rajiv Sharma (CMD, REC), Praveer Sinha (MD & CEO of Tata Power's Delhi Distribution Co), Alok Tandon (IAS:1986:UP, JS Banking), Tarun Kapoor (IAS:1987:UP, JS New & Renewable Energy), Aman Singh (former IRS officer & OSD to Chhattisgarh CM Dr Raman Singh) and Gurdeep Singh (MD, GSECL) who started his career with NTPC.
