New (01.11.2024): Having held the office as OSD under the erstwhile Defence Secretary Aramane Giridhar (Retd IAS: 1988: AP) since the mid of August Rajesh Kumar Singh (IAS: 1989: KL) is the new Defence Secretary of India w.e.f. 01.11.2024. Aramane Giridhar completed his extended terms of service on 31.10.2024. Before this RK Singh worked as Secretary, DPIIT under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry and Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
