Is Shiv Sena committing mistakes consciously or they are conscious decisions? With the recent being long-awaited expansion of Maharashtra cabinet that has taken place but annoying many trusted leaders of the party. Shiv Sena leadership ignoring the most trusted musketeer Sanjay Raut has not gone down well with him. However, NCP and the Congress MLAs are more or less contended over this expansion.
There is resentment over the Udhdhv Thackrey’s decision of inducting his son as cabinet minister while ignoring senior leader Ramdas Kadam and many other workers who had given their sweat and blood to the party. Sanjay Raut’s brother was denied cabinet berth despite the fact that Raut was the main architect of the SS, NCP and Congress alliance in Maharashtra. Raut was missing from swearing in ceremony.
Apart from Sunil Raut (Vikhroli MLA), there is a big disgruntled lot of MLAs aspiring to become ministers. Pratap Sarnaik, Tanaji Sawant, Sunil Prabhu, Ravindra Waikar and Bhaskar Jadhav along with senior Sena leader Ramdas Kadam did not attend the swearing-in ceremony.
People in Mumbai are of the view that these resentment may cause SS very dear. A Mumbaikar and political activist Netra Daoo said that BMC elections will be the litumus test for the SS where it will have a direct fight with the BJP. Chaggan Bhujbal who was with SS is now with NCP, managing a workable relations will be difficult once honnymoon period of the SS is over.
Out of the 36 members, 26 were sworn-in as cabinet ministers and 10 took oath as junior ministers. Though Sanjay Raut has not expressed his unhappiness openly, he is expected to discuss it with Uddhav Thackeray soon. Sunil Raut remained incommunicado.
