The Government of Rajasthan on 03.11.2020 appointed Mohan Lal Lather (IPS:1987:RJ) as the Director-General of Police (DGP) for a period of two years (fixed-term) or until his retirement whichever earlier. He will attain the retirement age May next year but having appointed for a fixed term of two years Lather will remain on turf till 02 November 2022. It may be underlined that following the appointment of Bhupendra Singh Yadav (IPS:1986:RJ) as Chairman of Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), the Gehlot Govt had on 14.10.2020 assigned Lather with the additional charge of State DGP in addition to his regular charge as DG of Crime Branch.
