New Delhi (30.10.2023): The New Delhi establishment on Monday cleared the appointment of ten senior railways officers as General Manager i.e. Level 16 posts of  of Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS). 
The list of newly appointed GMs goes as follows:
  1. DG, National Academy of Indian Railways (Vadodara)- Manoj Krishna Akhouri
  2. GM, East Central Railway (Hajipur)- Anil Kumar Khandelwal 
  3. GM, North Western Railway (Jaipur)- Amitabh
  4. GM, Rail Coach Factory (Kapurthala)- S Srinivas
  5. GM, Rail Wheel Factory (Yelahanka)- R Rajagopal
  6. GM, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (Chittaranjan)- Hitendra Malhotra
  7. GM, West Central Railway (Jabalpur)- Shobhana Bandopadhyaya
  8. GM, Central Railway (Mumbai)- Ram Karan Yadav 
  9. GM, Northeast Frontier Railway (Construction)- S K Pandey
  10. GM, North Eastern Railway (Gorakhpur)- Saumya Mathur
It is noteworthy that two GMs holding the key position were shifted relatively low key posts triggering the murmuring in the close quarters over the reasons which reportedly goes back to certain developments which took last month.
In relaxation to the extant guidelines S K Jha (GM, Northeast Frontier Railway, Construction) was laterally appointed as DG, Indian Railway Institute of Civil Engineering, Pune (DG,IRICEN) vice Ram Karan Yadav who made it as GM, NFR (Construction). Similarly, in relaxation of the extant guidelines C V Raman (GM, North Eastern Railway) was moved as OSD (Railway Stores), Railway Board by temporarily upgrading the Level-15 IRSS post of PCMM/ North Eastern Railway to Level-16 for a period upto 30.09.2025.
Senior sources believe that feedback of investigative agencies and certain inputs have shadow over the prospects resulting into lateral shifts.
