Railway Board: Jatin Chopra appointed as Director, Establishment (Sports)

New Delhi (22.08.2024): Ministry of Railways have appointed Jatin Chopra (IRTS) as
Director, Establishment (Sports), Railway Board and Additional Secretary, Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) on vacant JAG/IRTS post of Northern
Railway. Railway Sports Promotion Board (SPB) holds importance as it promotes
sportsmen in approximately 36 sports categories.
Chopra was serving as Private Secretary to Union
Minister Mansukh Mandavia in the previous Modi government. Earlier Chopra handled
the key assignment in the Department of Fertilizers as Director, Movements. His
appointment is significant in view of India's bid for 2036 Olympics. Reportedly,
Chopra May work as connecting link between the RSPB and the Ministry of
Sports.
