Retired IAS officer P V R K Prasad, who was Additional Secretary and Media Adviser to former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao, passed away this morning in Hyderabad. He was 77. Throughout his career he held several other important posts which included Executive Officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (ED, TTD) and Chairman of Vizag Port Trust. Under his leadership as ED, TTD during 1978-82 and later as an Advisor, TTD (post-retirement), the Lord Venkateswara temple at Tirupati, took up several reforms and important projects. His series of articles on Tirumala Tirupathi and its presiding deity Lord Venkateswara are very popular. Prasad authored several popular books in Telugu, including 'Naham Kartha', 'Asalem Jarigindante' (Wheels behind the veil), 'Tirumala Leelamrutham' and 'Tirumala Charitamrutam'.
