The career of three IAS officers belonging to 1983 batch shot up on Tuesday. The post of Binoy Kumar (IAS:1983: TG) is temporarily upgraded to the Secretary rank for a period of two years. Currently, he serves as DG, Directorate General of Supplies & Disposals (DGS&D), Ministry of Commerce & Industry. R Sridharan (IAS:1983: KN) was appointed Member (Finance), Space Commission, by restoring the post to the level of Secretary. Currently, Sridharan serves in Ministry of Mines. Raghvendra Singh (IAS:1983: WB) was appointed to the post of DG, National Archives of India, Ministry of Culture. To accommodate Raghavendra, the post has been temporarily upgraded to the rank and pay of Secretary. Currently, he serves as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare. It may be mentioned that out of these three, Sridharan will retire in September this year whereas Raghvendra Singh and Binoy Kumar will have a tenure till June 2019 and May 2020 respectively.
