Dilip Kumar Patel, on Wednesday took charge as new Director (Human Resources), NTPC. He succeeded Saptarshi Roy who retired yesterday i.e. 31.03.2020. PESB had selected Patel for the post on 18.09.2019 and ACC had endorsed his appointment on 2.12.2020. He will have a tenure till the date of his superannuation i.e. 30.04.2024. Patel has been the HR Head in various NTPC projects like NSPCL Bhilai, Sipat, and Tanda for around 12 years. He was also the Regional Head of HR in the Eastern Region-2, before he was appointed as the Director (HR). He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from NIT, Rourkela and did his Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (HR & Finance) from MDI, Gurgaon. He started his career in NTPC way back in 1986 as an Engineering Executive Trainee (XI batch) and had over more than three decades of the experience. After gaining work experience in (Mechanical Maintenance & CHP Operation) and Employee Development Centre (EDC) at Korba, he took a leap in his career and switched to core HR functions in 1997. Later he moved on to become the Head of HR at Koldam where the first hydro project of NTPC was launched.
