New Delhi (03.01.2021):Suresh Chandra Mohapatra's entry into the CS office on January 1, 2021, has triggered a rebooting of the Odisha administration. The appointment of young 2005 IAS officer R Vineel Krishna as the new Special Secretary to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was the first major step in that direction. He will continue to hold the post of Special Secretary in the Sports and Youth Services department as an additional charge.
Krishna was earlier functioning as the managing director of Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) and Odisha Mineral Exploration Corporation Ltd(OMECL) in addition to being the Director of Sports department and OSD (Covid Management) in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
Puri Collector Balwant Singh has been posted in Krishna's place as the managing director of OMC as well as the Managing Director of OMECL. Kendrapara Collector Samarth Verma is the new Collector of Puri. Amrit Ruturaj, who has been serving as Project Director of Rayagada DRDA, will be the Collector of Kendrapara.
Md. Sadique Alam, Executive Director of Centre for Modernizing Government Initiative (CMGI), Bhubaneswar, has been given the additional charge of Director of Industries in place of Raghu G.
More changes may be on the way as Mohapatra settles down in the new office.
