31 December 2020: The Government of Karnataka promoted four senior IAS officers to the rank of Additional Chief Secretary (Apex Scale) in the cadre state w.e.f 01.01.2021.

1. Atul Kumar Tiwari (IAS:1990:KN)- Additional Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship in the Govt of India (on central deputation).
2. Kapil Mohan (IAS:1990:KN)- ACS to Government, Energy Department
3. Gaurav Gupta (IAS:1990:KN)- ACS to Government, Commerce and Industries Department
4. G Kumar Naik (IAS:1990:KN)– ACS to Government, Education Department (Higher Education)

Further, four IAS officers accorded proforma promotion in the rank of Principal Secretary (HAG posts) w.e.f. 01 .01 .2021:

1. Ritesh Kumar Singh (IAS:1996:KN),
2. Mrs V Rashmi Mahesh (IAS:1996:KN),
3. Mohammad Mohsin (IAS:1996:KN),
