Amaravati (21.08.2024): Not only the Opposition, NDA allies too are staring in the eyes of the Centre, earlier in the lateral entry case by Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and now the Andhra Pradesh government-led by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has given its consent to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe anything or anyone in the state except investigation in cases relating to the public servants controlled by the state government. They can only be investigated once prior permission is sought from the state government while rest of the consent remains in force as they are. As per the DSPE Act 1946, the CBI needs prior consent of the respective government to undertake any investigation if general consent is not given to it by the state.
