New Delhi (28.02.2022): Marking a departure from the regular practice the NaMo administration announced Mrs. Madhabi Puri Buch as the new chairperson of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for a period of three years. Indianmandarins had indicated well in its report dated 22.03.2017 (CLICK TO READ). She is the first woman and a person from the private sector to become SEBI Chairperson. Buch was serving as the whole-time member at SEBI Sebi till last year and before that was serving at the New Development Bank in Shanghai. She will succeed Ajay Tyagi (retd IAS:1984:HP) as the new SEBI Chairperson. Tyagi was appointed as the chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) on 1 March 2017, for a period of three years.
