Kolkata (09.11.2023): V L Kantha Rao (IAS: 1992: MP),
Secretary, Ministry of Mines, Government of India, visited the Corporate Office
of Hindustan Copper Limited in Kolkata. Rao was warmly welcomed by Ghanshyam
Sharma, CMD, HCL, along with Sanjay Panjiyar, D (Op), Sanjiv Kumar Singh, D
(M), Upendra Kumar Pandey, CVO, and other senior officials, on his maiden visit
to Tamra Bhavan, HCL Corporate Office. In a detailed presentation, the Secretary, Mines, was
apprised of the overall activities of the Company along with its ongoing
projects. During the meeting, Rao interacted at length with the senior
executives of HCL. Lauding the unique position of the Company as the only
Copper miner in India, he advised all to focus on enhancing the production of
copper ore and Metal-in-Concentrate. He said that the Ministry of Mines will extend all possible
support, cooperation and help in the administrative and policy matters. Rao
encouraged the HCL personnel to put their best foot forward in order to build a
glorious future for the Company.
