Former Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi (Retd IAS:1978:RJ) on Monday took over as the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG). Mehrishi, was administered the oath of office by President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and PP were also present at the occasion. Mehrishi completed his two-year fixed term as the Union Home Secretary in August. Having been appointed as CAG for a term of 06 yrs or till the incumbent attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier; he will have tenure of over 03 yrs. Having replaced Shashi Kant Sharma he has became the first IAS officer to serve as Finance Secretary, Home Secretary and CAG in a row.
