In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the NaMo administration on Friday cleared the appointments of 29 joint secretaries in different departments. Out of these, 13 officers are from the IAS (including 6 from 2002 batch) while rest from the Indian Forest Service, IRS, IDAS, IA&AS, IP&TA&FS, IIS and CSS. 

  1. Ashutosh Jindal (IAS:1995:TR) appointed as Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat vice Ms Rachna Shah (lAS:1991:KL). Presently, he is Joint Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas.
  2. Satendra Singh (lAS:1995:JH) appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Mines for a tenure of five years vice  Bipul Pathak (lAS:1992:JK).
  3. Ms Kamini Chauhan Ratan (lAS:1997:UP) appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Higher Education for a tenure of five years vice Ms Ishita Roy (IAS:1991:KL).
  4. Puneet Aggarwal (lAS:1998:TR) appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Defence for a tenure ending 24.10.2021. He replaces V Anandarajan (IRS IT:1988) who will be completing  his tenure on 11.11.2019. Presently Aggarwal is JS, Textiles.
  5. Ms Alaknanda Dayal (IAS:2000:PB) appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs (vice Ms Nidhi Khare) for a combined tenure of of 7 years outside the cadre.
  6. Ms Manmeet K Nanda (lAS:2000:WB) appointed as  Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade for a tenure of five years vice Rajiv Aggarwal (lAS:1993:UP).
  7. Ms Nandita Gupta (lAS:2001:HP) appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Food & Public for an overall tenure of 5 years ending 14.12.2022. She replaces P K Tiwari (IAS:1991:AM).
  8. Saurabh Gaur (lAS:2002:AP) appointed as  Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology for a tenure ending 23.03.2020. Gaur replaces  Sanjay K Rakesh (lAS:1989:TR).
  9. Rohit Yadav (lAS:2002:CG) appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel for an overall tenure of 5 years ending 31.07.2023.
  10. Praveen N Gedam (lAS:2002:MH) appointed as Deputy CEO (JS level), National Health Authority, under MoHFW for a tenure ending 27.11.2022.
  11. Saurabh Jain (lAS:2002:KL) appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs by temporarily upgrading a vacant post of Director level) for a combined tenure of 7 years ending 01.09.2020. He will continue to hold the additional charge of the post of Commissioner, Eklavya Model Residential School Society.
  12. Ms M Imkongla Jamir (lAS:2002:KN) appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Women & Child Development for a combined tenure of 7 years ending 08.04.2021 by temporarily downgrading a vacant post of Additional Secretary vice Shri K. Moses Chalai (IAS:1990:MN).
  13. S N Girish (lAS:2002:OR) appointed as Regional Director (JS level), SSC, under the DoPT for an overall tenure of five years ending 08.08.2024 by temporarily upgrading the post.
  14. Ms D Sai Amutha Devi (IP&TA&FS:1995) appointed as Joint Secretary in the Office of Secretary (Security), Cabinet Secretariat for a tenure of five years. She rplaces Ms Arti Bhatnagar, (IDAS:1990).
  15. Ms Praveen Kumari Singh (IRPS:1993) appointed as Additional Secretary (JS level), CVC, for a tenure upto her superannuation on 30.04.2024. She replaces Ms Sonali Singh (ICAS:1987).
  16. Ms Neeta Prasad (IIS:1991) appointed Joint Secretary, Department of Higher Education for a tenure of five years vice N Saravana Kumar (lAS:200-:BH).
  17. Rajesh Sharma (IDAS:1992) appointed as Joint Secretary & Additional Financial Adviser Ministry of Defence for a tenure of five years. Sharma replaces Ms Dharitri Panda (ICAS:1987).
  18. Satya S Lolla (IRS C&CE:1991) appointed as Joint Secretary, NATGRID (MHA) for a tenure of five years vice Ashish Gupta (IPS:1989:UP).
  19. Alok Pande (IPoS:1994) appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Investment & Public Asset Management for a tenure of five. He replaces Ravi Aggarwal (IRS IT:1988).
  20. Upendra C Joshi (IRTS:1989) appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Mines for a tenure of five years vice Niranjan K Singh (IFoS:1987:GJ).
  21. Ms Manisha Sensharma (IES:1995) appointed as Joint Secretary (A&F), DMEO, NITI Aayog for a tenure of five years.
  22. Praveen M Khanooja (IA&AS:1994) appointed as DG, Petroleum Planning & Analysis Cel under the Ministry of Petroleum & NG for a tenure of five years. He replaces  or until Ms Atreyee Das (IA&AS:1989).
  23. Ms Mamta Upadhyaya Lal (IOFS:1989) appointed as Additional DG (JS level), BIS under the Department of Consumer Affairs for a tenure upto her superannuation on 30.09.2023. She replaces C B Singh (IES:1986).
  24. Rajeev K Tiwari (IFoS:1993:JK) appointed as Principal Commissioner, DDA, Housing & Ministry of Urban Affairs Affairs for a tenure of five years. He replaces Shripal (IFoS:1986:KL) repatring to cadre state on 15.11.2019.
  25. Ms Anuradha Vemuri (IFoS:1991:UP) appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship for a tenure of five years vice Ms Jyotsna Sitlling (IFoS:1987:UD).
  26. Ashish Rawat (IFoS:1988:JH) appointed as CEO, Development & Welfare Board for Denotified Nomadic & Semi-nomadic Communities, under the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment for a tenure upto his superannuation on 31.12.2023.
  27. S K Ratho (IFoS:1987:OR), Joint Secretary, NCST, appointed as ED/DDG, National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) under the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation for an overall tenure of five years upto 19.03.2022. He replaces  or C V Dharma Rao (CSS).
  28. K Touthang (CSS) appointed as Joint Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for a tenure of five years vice S K Ratho (IFoS:1987).
  29. Ms Jaya Dubey (CSS) appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances for a period of 5 yrs.
