New Delhi (21.07.2022): The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet headed by the Prime Minister on Thursday endorsed the request of the Ministry of Home Affairs by approving the premature repatriation of Keshav Chandra (lAS:1995:UT) to his parent cadre.
Chandra started his stint as Director, Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) in July 2020 for a period ending December 17, 2022. He had replaced Amardeep Singh Bhatia (IAS:1993:NL).
Later, in December 2021, the SFIO post held by Chandra was elevated to the rank of Additional Secretary to the Govt of India.
It may be underlined that SFIO functions under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs whereas, as per the order issued by DoP&T, Chandra was prematurely repatriated on the request of the Ministry of Home Affairs. He has a long career in service ending October 2029.
