New Delhi (08.09.2024): The Centre on Saturday designated Tuhin Kanta Pandey (IAS: 1987: OR) as the new Finance Secretary nearly a month after the incumbent Dr TV Somanathan (IAS: 1987: TN) was appointed the Cabinet Secretary. Currently, Pandey is working as Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) under the Ministry of Finance. He is also holding the additional charge as Secretary, Department of Public Enterprise (DPE) vice Ali Raza Rizvi (lAS: 1988: HP)It may be underlined that Pandey is the longest serving Secretary in charge of DIPAM which is credited to the successful steering of the critical sale of ailing national carrier Air India.
