New Delhi (30.11.2020): The tenure of Utpal Kumar Singh (Retd IAS:1986:UD) as Secretary-General, Lok Sabha and Lok Sabha Secretariat has been extended for a period of one year w.e.f. 01.12.2024. With successive extension he will be completing five years long tenure in the coveted chair on 30.11.2025.
Prior to Singh, Snehlata Shrivastava (Retd IAS:1982:MP) served as SG, LS till 30.11.2020 who was considered to have hand picked by Late Arun Jaitley for the coveted chair.
Singh, former Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand, was drafted in the coveted position on 30.11.2020 on a contract basis in the rank and status of Cabinet Secretary for a period of one year ending 30.11.2021. Since then he has been getting successive extensions.
