Uttarakhand: Om Prakash is new Chief Secretary

Om Prakash (IAS:1987:UD) was on Thursday late evening appointed as the 16th chief secretary (CS) of Uttarakhand. Reportedly, he may take charge on Friday evening from Utpal Kumar Singh (IAS:1986:UD); the outgoing CS. Presently, Om Prakash is working as the ACS looking after health, PWD and civil aviation etc.

It is understood that construction projects of national importance would be on top of his priority list namely; redevelopment of Kedarnath, the All-Weather Road for Char Dham and Rishikesh-Karnaprayag rail route - which are under progress in Uttarakhand. Among others bringing the tourism back on track will be on top of his priority list.
