Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that Sanjay Kundu (IPS:1989:HP) may be drafted as Principal Secretary to Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. Currently, Additional Chief Secretary (Information & PR) Shrikant Baldi (IAS:1985:HP) functions as PS to CM.
It may be noted that on request of Himachal Govt the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet on Thursday issued orders of Kundu's premature repatriation to cadre state. Kundu served in Ministry of Water Resources, Ganga Rejuvenation & River Development in the rank of Joint Secretary.
It is also rumoured that Kundu may replace the incumbent state DGP Sitaram Mardi (IPS:1987:HP) but it appears unlikely as Mardi was CM's choice itself for the top cop job.
