DFS Secretary Nominated to RBI Central Board as Government Director

372MUMBAI (12.06.2026): The Centre has nominated Sanjay Lohiya
(IAS: 1994: AM) as a Government Director on the Central Board of the Reserve
Bank of India (RBI). Lohiya has succeeded Nagaraju Maddirala on the central
bank's board. His nomination came into effect on June 11, 2026. Lohiya currently serves as Secretary, Department of Financial Services, which oversees banking, insurance and
financial institutions under the Ministry of Finance. His induction into the
RBI Central Board is expected to strengthen coordination between the government

MUMBAI (12.06.2026): The Centre has nominated Sanjay Lohiya (IAS: 1994: AM) as a Government Director on the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Lohiya has succeeded Nagaraju Maddirala on the central bank's board. His nomination came into effect on June 11, 2026.
