Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that as many as four IPS officers have been under consideration for the much-sought post of Joint Secretary (Security), Parliament. The post falls under the jurisdiction of Lok Sabha Secretariat. It has fallen vacant as the outgoing officer Yogesh Deshmukh (IPS:1995:MP) completed his tenure in the last week of February but the reporting authority is yet to relieve him for want of a regular successor.
The names of Sanjay Mathur (IPS:1994:TN), Prakash D (IPS:1994:UP), L V Antony Dev Kumar (IPS:1994:UD) and Chanchal Shekhar (IPS:1995:MP) are said to figure on the panel under consideration.
JS (Security) is the chief of the entire security apparatus of the Parliament complex comprising Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
