Union Minister for Drinking Water & Sanitation Narendra Singh Tomar and Union Secretary P Parameshwaran Iyer (Retd IAS:1983:UP) are said to have gone to Mumbai to interact with Akshay Kumar, the co-producer of a film titled Toilet - Ek Prem Katha, and Amitabh Bachchan. It may be mentioned that though Big B is not associated with the film but has been the brand ambassador for Swachch Bharat Abhiyan.
Tomar and Iyer visit does not seem too unusual because the Union Govt has been carrying out a high-pitch Swachch Bharat campaign in mass media instruments like TV and FM Radios to take the 'abhiyan' effectively to masses across the country. Iyer has been so serious to accomplish the mission that he took little time to jump into a toilet pit in Telangana in February this year. Iyer is the one knows well how to lead by example and set new examples. Probably he was the first among GoI secretaries who started countdown screen in his office setting the target and counting time in hand in accomplishment.
It may be noted that 'Toilet - Ek Prem Katha' is an upcoming satirical comedy film directed by Shree Narayan Singh and co-produced by Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey. The film will star Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles, with Anupam Kher and Sana Khan in supporting roles. The movie is slated to be released on 11 August 2017, around India's Independence day.
The film is about PM Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a governmental campaign to improve the sanitation conditions in India, with emphasis on the reduction of open defecation in public areas, especially in the rural areas of India.
