New Delhi (10.10.2023): Around a month after one-year post-retirement extension to IOCL Chairman Shrikant Madhav Vaidya, the Centre has constituted a three-member search-cum-selection committee headed by Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) chairperson including the oil secretary as a member to appoint Vidya’s successor. Former Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) chairman MK Surana is the third member on the committee.
However, no timeframe has been set for the selection of the new IOCL head yet the Govt has made its intent clear to find out a new Chairman for IOCL.
As Indianmandarins had reported Vaidya got further extension in the month of August till the appointment of a new incumbent -- a rare event for anyone on the board of a state-owned company. Vaidya, who took over as the chairman of IOC on July 1, 2020, was to retire after attaining the superannuation age of 60 years at August-end.
