Odisha has promoted (in situ) as many twelve IPS officers from four batches of 1991, 1998, 2002 and 2003.
Debasis Panigrahi (IPS:1991:OR) has been promoted as Additional Director General and has been posted as ADG, Personnel at State PHQ. The 1998 batch IPS officers Amitabh Thakur, Dayal Gangwar & N B Bharathi have been promoted to the rank of Inspector General. While Thakur will be IG Southern range, Gangwar will be IG State Armed Police.
From 1998 batch, S Dev Datt (DIG, CISF) and Ravi Kant (DIG, CBI) have got proforma promotion. S Parveen Kumar from 2002 batch and 2003 batch officers Kavita Jalan, Shafeen Ahmed K and Himanshu Kumar Lal have also been promoted.
