The incumbent Chief Secretary (Sajal Chakraborty) to the Government of Jharkhand has been served with a show cause notice for heated-argument with the newly elected Chief Minister Raghubar Das which occurred on January 20. Reportedly, it was during a viedo conferencing with the CM when the mutually differing views on law & orders related issue turned into a heated-argument. Insiders say that within half an hour or so the decision was taken to replace the CS, Chakraborty (IAS:1980:JH) with Rajiv Gauba (IAS:1982:JH) who is presently serving at centre as Additional Secretary, Union Home Ministy. Reportedly, the newly appointed CS is expected to take charge on January 27. He has also been slammed with the charge of lack of coordination between government and bureaucracy.
