To many Haryana cadre officers the decision is being seen as somewhat very unusual and courageous one; seemingly backed by some strong personal commitment. Shakuntala Jakhu (IAS: 1978: HY) retired on November 30. Political sources indicate that Dalip Singh (IAS: 1982: HY) having appointed as successor to P K Gupta (as ACS and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management and Consolidation) is being seen as future Chief Secretary after Gupta.
