New Delhi (24.03.2023): The relationship between the judiciary and the executive appears to be at its nadir with seemingly everyone trying to score over each other but Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiu’s statement that some retired, activist judges, who peddle ‘anti-India’ sentiments, are forcing the judiciary to play the part of opposition infuriated Delhi High Court judge Rekha Sharma who dared him to name such judges. Making a sweeping statement is inappropriate. Airing one’s view cannot be dubbed as anti-National and judges know their Lakshman Rekha, this is how Justice Sharma put across her opinion. But the contentious point is the Collegium system. Let’s see who blinks!
