Ranchi (14.03.2023): The ED has summoned Rajiv Arun Ekka (IAS: 1994: JH) to appear before it on March 15, 2023 days after Jharkhand BJP released a video which purportedly showed him signing files at the premises of alleged middleman Vishal Choudhary. Further, it is to be noted that Chaudhary’s name came up after the arrest of Pooja Singhal (IAS: 2000: JH) in a money laundering case. 

Coming back to the ED summon it is not clear yet in which case he will be questioned. It may be recalled that the state government issued a notification transferring Ekka to a relatively low key department (Panchayati Raj) after the controversial video surfaced on March 5. A section of officials anticipated that the possibility of Ekka being summoned by the ED so that the work of the government did not suffer. 

The plight of Jharkhand cadre officers fails to die down as Vinay Kumar Choubey is also said to be under the ED scanner.
