New Delhi (14.03.2023): Proving everyone wrong yet again, the government has appointed an interim Chairman of the LIC for three months. In the backdrop of Hindenberg report, it was expected that the government might give M R Kumar third extension in a row beyond March 13, 2023. Most of the media reported another extension for him but that turned out to be a trap. As usual, the New Delhi dispensation swung a surprise with an interim arrangement. Here lies a catch: A section of senior officials in Public Sector and Corporate honchos started assuming that it may bring Kumar a post-retirement bonanza not sooner but later. Another section believes that corporate world may pick him for a key assignment.
