New Delhi (08.04.2022): Registering his protest against the non-consideration for the post of Member Railway Board the incumbent Director-General of Railway Safety Ravinder Gupta (IRSME:1983) has reportedly resigned from the service. 

Reportedly, Gupta was anguished as despite his seniority and eligibility Ministry of Railways did not put him under consideration zone for a Member post. It may be underlined that earlier also officials namely Dashrathi and Balakesari had resorted to resignation in protest.

The Centre is considering names for the posts of Member (Infrastructure), Member (Traction & Rolling Stock). In addition, the large number pendency including Member (Finance), DG (HR) and GM posts and disrupting intervention pertaining to the implementation of the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) have been creating murmuring across cadres under the Ministry of Railways.
