Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that the cabinet is all set to give its nod to the proposal of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to increase its forces strength from 1.45 lakh to two lakh. The proposal is said to have passed through all procedural hurdles including clearance of Department of Expenditure and has been sent for cabinet clearance.
It is believed that the Surender Singh (IAS:1979:WB), the outgoing CISF DG is keenly waiting for the proposal's approval so that he may demit the office on 31 August with a sense of a satisfaction.
The sanctioned strength of CISF needs to be raised urgently to meet the growing demands from expanding Metro Rails across the country, public sector industrial units and several other establishments.
