After a brief stint of 14 months as Adviser to the Administrator (Chandigarh) Vijay Kumar Dev was transferred from Chandigarh on March 10 this year. Prior to Chandigarh assignment he served as Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Govt of National Capital Region till December 2014.
In case Indianmandarins' information turned out to be true Vijay Kumar Dev will occupy the DEC post in ECI which fell vacant in October 2014 after R Balakrishnan's (IAS:1984:OR) repatriation to Odisha.
