Five senior IPS officers in the rank of Special Police Commissioner were reshuffled which include Mohd. Taj Hassan (IPS:1987:UT) who had recently repatriated from Narcotics Control Bureau (Govt of India) where he served as DDG. Accordingly; Taj Hassan was posted as Special CP (Traffic) whereas R S Krishnaiah (IPS:1989:UT) was made Special CP Vigilance & Licensing. Similrly Sanjay Singh (IPS:1990) replaced Krishnaiah as Special CP (Headquarters & Recruitment. Prior to this Sanjay served as Special CP (Armed Police). R P Upadhyay (IPS:1991:UT) was made Special CP (Law & Order), South. Upadhyay earlier served as Special CP (Crime). Satish Golcha (IPS:1992:UT) was made Special CP (Crime & EOW). Previously Golcha served as Special CP (Vigilance & EoW).
