New Delhi (16.11.2023): Apparently in response to ED summon to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in liquor scam case, he sent Vigilance Minister Atishi’s inquiry report on corruption allegations against Delhi Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar (IAS: 1987: AGMUT) to L-G VK Saxena recommending his immediate suspension and removal from the post.
The Delhi CM had also issued directions on the 670-page report submitted to him for alleged involvement of the state Chief Secretary in enhancing an “exorbitant compensation award” for a parcel of land in Southwest Delhi’s Bamnoli village acquired for the Dwarka Expressway to be sent to the CBI and ED for the investigation of a possible money laundering angle in it.
The CS termed the allegations and the inquiry an attempt by the AAP Delhi government to “defame” and “malign” him. He said he did not know the directors of his son’s firm and it was he who took action against IAS officer Hemant Kumar (IAS: 2023: AGMUT) who was suspended by the MHA and is facing a CBI inquiry over his alleged role in the matter.
