In an abrupt move Chief Commissioner of Customs, Delhi Customs Zone was on Monday transferred as OSD to the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) with immediate effect. Chief Commissioner of Customs (Preventive), Delhi was given the additional charge of the post. 

If some well-placed sources are to be believed the inordinate delay in clearance of some defence equipment irked the 'top office' following which the decision was formalized with immediate effect. Those in the know of the affairs apprehend that further action may be taken against the delay.

Though, few credible senior-most IAS officers who have seen his work closely term him an outstanding officer.
