New Delhi (15.07.2024): On a solo cycling journey from Kanyakumari to Kargil and Siachen, under the theme सशक्त सेना समृद्ध भारत, Aasha Malviya wants to sensitize citizens of India about the sacrifices of Indian soldiers and to motivate the youth of the country to participate in nation-building efforts. Serving the nation is the highest kind of duty one can perform. She commenced from Kanyakumari on June 24, covering 3150 kilometers distance she reached Delhi recently. Lt Gen Prit Pal Singh, GOC, Sudarshan Chakra Corps felicitated Asha Malviya a cyclist, mountaineer and athlete in Bhopal, who is on a journey from Kanyakumari to Siachen on the occasion of 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas. Her solo cycling expedition is to commemorate the silver jubilee of Kargil victory and seeks to reinforce the values of a strong and united India under the theme Empowered Army, prosperous India. Aasha Malviya, who is from Rajgarh district in Madhya Pradesh, is a dedicated sportswoman with national achievements in athletics and a passionate mountaineer. She has scaled notable peaks such as BC Roy (20500 ft) and Tenzing Khan (19545 ft). She had also embarked on a solo journey covering 26,000 km across 28 states in the country to promote women safety and women empowerment. Her mother, who raised her as a single parent, along with numerous other successful women around the world, serves as her enduring source of inspiration. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has given instructions to provide one lakh rupees as incentive to solo cyclist Asha Malviya reaching the destination on July 26.
