In our culture, touching the feet of an elder and sadhus and sanyasis is common and considered normal and desirable. But it is frowned upon, and rightly so if the holder of one public office does it to another holder of public office. So the power corridors are not amused by the behavior of a PSU CMD, who is said to touch the feet of a state CM all the time when he comes across him. The story goes that the questionable behavior of the CMD is born out of his fear of disclosure of an irresponsible act in his career. So to prevent that from happening, he tries to appease the CM through his obsequious and pathetic conduct.
