New Delhi (24.04.2021): As oxygen shortage hits the nation fighting the Chinese virus, IFFCO (wholly owned by cooperatives) has risen to the occasion to supply liquid medical oxygen (LMO) to hospitals all over the country. Earlier, SAIL had done innovations at its plants to meet the LMO requirement.

IFFCO has constituted an exclusive team dedicated to set up an automatic oxygen cylinder filling plant at its Aonla unit in Bareilly, UP. It will be its second LMO unit with a capacity for producing 130 Cubic Mtr/hr of LMO. And it will start production from May 30.

The company will supply LMO free of cost to the hospitals.

The plant will be capable of filling 450 big D type cylinders daily & 150 medium B size cylinders on demand.

To get their supplies, hospitals will have to use their own cylinders for a refill. Otherwise, a security deposit will be taken for IFFCO cylinders to avoid hoarding of oxygen.

The company said the work on its other LMO plants at PHULPUR in Uttar Pradesh & Paradeep in Odisha was also going apace.
