Instead of learning from a Class X boy, the UP police have scolded him.
The boy from Gorakhpur's Maharajganj used a Twitter handle to recover Rs 45,000 his brother had given to a foreign job racketeer for getting him an employment in Dubai. As is normal, the racketeer didn't provide the job nor returned the money.
So the boy, on the advice of his friends, created a fake Twitter handle in the name of state DGP O P Singh and directed the SSP in charge to take action in this apparent case of fraud.
The police soon moved into action and made the racketeer return Rs 30,000 instantly with the promise to return the remaining amount shortly.
When the action-taken report was reportedly sent to the DGP, he clarified that he had never instructed anything in the matter.
That's how the fake Twitter handle created by the boy got busted.
But the boy had done the same to get justice.
If the UP Police had got him justice - not a difficult matter in such cases, the boy won't have resorted to his ingenuity.
The lesson for the UP police chief and his subordinates is clear - act swiftly on any complaints made in the social media.
If the Railways could handle one and every individual complaint on the social media, there is no reason why the UP Police could not act similarly.
No excuses, please. Change yourself, UP Police. The boy has shown you the way to redeem your honor and reputation.
